How we collect, use and protect personal data when you visit maai.dev or contact us.
Last updated: 5 November 2026
1. Who we are
This website is operated by MOHAMMED ALASHQAR FOR AI DEVELOPMENT (“MAAI”, “we”, “us”), a sole establishment in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, licensed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development under licence no. CN-5898110. We decide how the personal data described here is used and are responsible for it.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@maai.dev.
We handle personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. This policy covers the website only. Personal data we handle for clients during a project is governed by our agreement with that client.
2. What we collect
When you contact us
If you use our contact form, we collect your name, work email address, organisation (optional), the topic you choose, your message, and the date and time you gave consent. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the form. If we need it, we will agree a suitable way to share it, such as under a non-disclosure agreement.
When you browse the site
Like most websites, our servers and security services automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. We use this to deliver the site, keep it secure and block abuse.
To stop repeated spam through the contact form, we keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address for one hour. It cannot be turned back into your IP address and is deleted automatically.
Site statistics
We count visits with Umami, an open-source statistics tool that we run on our own server. It uses no cookies and stores no personal data: we see only totals, such as page views, the site that referred you, your country, browser and device type.
Cookies
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our security provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary cookies to tell people apart from automated traffic. WordPress sets cookies only if you log in to the site or leave a comment on an article.
3. How we use it, and why
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss a possible engagement, based on the consent you give when you submit the form and, where relevant, on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep the website secure and working, including detecting and blocking attacks and spam, because it is necessary for the site to operate safely.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping business records or responding to lawful requests from authorities.
We do not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list without asking you first.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Hostinger hosts the website and its database, including saved enquiries.
- Cloudflare delivers the website and protects it against attacks. All traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare.
- Google Workspace provides our email, so enquiries and emails you send us are stored there.
We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or the public.
5. Transfers outside the UAE
Our service providers store and process data in data centres outside the United Arab Emirates. Where personal data leaves the UAE, we rely on providers that apply recognised safeguards, such as contractual data protection commitments, as permitted under UAE law.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and related emails: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case our client agreement applies.
- Security and server logs: for short periods, normally no longer than 90 days, unless we need them to investigate an incident.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner at any time.
7. How we protect it
The site is served only over encrypted connections. Our server accepts administrator access by security key only, sits behind a web application firewall, and limits access to saved enquiries to authorised administrators. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will act promptly if something goes wrong.
8. Your rights
Subject to the conditions set by law, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your data, or restrict how we use it;
- stop using your data where you object to it;
- send your data to you or another organisation in a usable format.
You can also withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. To use any of these rights, email info@maai.dev. We will reply within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
9. Children
This website is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change, we will make it clear on this page.
